How it works
The Jimmy Wheel is an Australian-designed and manufactured automated gate opener built specifically for rural properties - and it works differently to anything else on the market.
Instead of mounting to a fence post and relying on a boom arm, it attaches to your gate and drives it open from the latch side, where the mechanical advantage is greatest. That means gate size and weight are barely a factor. Heavy steel gates, timber gates, wire gates - the Jimmy Wheel handles them.
Its unique pivot-and-tilt coupling keeps the drive wheels planted on your driveway even on uneven ground. The solar versions run on a solar panel and battery, so there's no trenching and no mains power needed - and if you already have power at the gate, there's a 240 VAC version instead.

It works on swinging gates — steel, timber or wire — at almost any size, because it drives the gate from the latch side where the leverage is greatest. Check the four questions in the Is My Gate Suitable section above. If your gate doesn't swing freely, sort that first.
